Does ASIO4ALL need to be installed in a particular directory where Pro Tools can find it? Is there a way to make the Windows Audio Device work? (I'd really prefer ASIO4ALL) Do I need to buckle down and get an audio interface? (I hesitate to only because the keyboard and microphone are USB devices. In this computer, other sounds continue to play, indicating Pro Tools isn't even trying. That's how it should work, so I've gathered. In my old computer Pro Tools would kind of hijack the system sound, so nothing outside of the program would play. Here there is a drag down menu, where my speakers are located, and both RltkDgtlOtpt and Speakers are yellow (indicating availability/compatibility, I assume) When I try to switch them, it restarts Pro Tools but simply sets up RltkDgtlOtpt as the default again, ignoring the change. Under Setup/Playback Engine the only option is Windows Audio Device (no dragdown menu at all), and RltkDgtlOtpt as the output device. I downloaded ASIO4ALL and can use it normally outside of the program, but Pro Tools itself doesn't recognize it. I built a new computer this month and I can't get the audio to play through my speakers plugged into the motherboard. I am strugling with that issue since the beginning! I tried to reinstall Windows, use other USB ports (2.0 Type A, 3.0 Type, 3.1 Type A, 3.1 Type C, 3.I used Pro Tools 12 with a computer I built 4 years ago, and it worked well with ASIO4ALL. But without the manufacturer driver, so if I am using the device as Windows recognize it, I don't have a single problem with audio playback quality, but in this case, I don't have ASIO! I tried a lots of things with setting and with an another interface (M-Audio 192/6, same as mine, but only with more IO), it behaves exactly the same, but during this mine was working fine with an another PC. The internet is not full with that issue, so I think it is not a common issue, even the manufacturer cannot said anything on merits. The error appears only when the interface "remix" the audio (starting a playback, jumping into a video, it can come only by a single Windows notification sound, etc.). Mostly under daily WDM usage (Youtube, gaming, music, etc.), sometimes the sound quality turns that distort, which you can hear in the link below (my recording). It is unstable in any cases! To keep it simple as I think this manufacturer drivers has two parts a WDM part and the ASIO. ![]() In ASIO4ALL Offline settings, I just set the buffer size to 256 Samples not more. custom - use the buffer size specified in CustomBufferSize field host - use a buffer size as close as possible as that requested by the host application driver - respect buffer size setting set in the driver ![]() Maybe somebody who is using ASIO4ALL, too can tell what am I doing wrong! But I am not able to set it up correctly, because my audio playback is so bad, with ASIO4ALL, it is distort and slow! So I have an M-Audio AIR 192-4, which is working fine, with its own ASIO driver, but this driver an unstable sh*t! I am after a long e-mail conversation with M-Audio, and they recommend to use ASIO4ALL. This is not issue which has to be solved by developer, because basically RS_ASIO is working properly! ![]()
